After I learned how to knit a couple of headbands (like this one and this one), the “bug” hit me.  I decided to try and make as many of my accessories as I could.  Here lately, I’ve been experimenting with felt flowers.  You can just simply type “felt flower” on Etsy, and be greeted with a multitude of loveliness.  So with all that inspiration floating in my brain, I got my trusty hot glue gun, some needle and thread, and some lovely shades of felt out and went to town.

And as for my aforementioned fashion obsession, just pay attention in these photos and you’ll most likely catch on.

I was really happy with the way this one turned out, but it took me AGES to make it look the way I wanted.  I made my own petal templates, cut them out of the felt, and then stitched them all together.

It probably wouldn’t have taken me so long if I actually knew how to sew or was following some sort of tutorial.  But a girl’s gotta learn somehow!  (Not pictured are the various rejects – I probably made about five of these before one turned out cute!)

I think this one is my favorite.  My mom showed me how to make the flowers, and then I just kept making one after another!  After I grouped them in a way that I thought was pretty, I hot glued them to a large piece of felt and put a pin on it to create this mega floral mass.  These things are addicting!

*Side note: my amazing friend, Bailey, straightened my hair for me.  My little hairs are so confused – they haven’t been this frizz free since birth!  What an amazing feeling!  That is until I wash my hair again and my frizz triumphantly returns in all its curly glory.*

These flowers are like the ones above, but they aren’t attached to each other.  That way you can just place them wherever you want.  I think it would be cool to pin a gazillion of these cascading down the side of your shirt.

And lastly, there’s this purple pin.  I actually made three of these.  I just couldn’t stop myself!

So, did any of you guess my fashion obsession?  Yup, it’s this gray sweater.  Actually, it’s any gray sweater.  I have three and I love them with all with a fiery passion.  I just think it’s amazing how versatile they are.  I wore the same sweater in each of these photos, and it works in every one of them!

Just mix in some accessories, tank tops, frilly shirts, and different colored skirts and you are set.  Sweaters = love.

Now, it’s time for the truth.  What do you guys think about these pins?  Weird?  Cool?  Boring?  Coolest thing since sliced bread?  I’d really like to hear!  You guys have given me AMAZING advice every time I’ve asked for it.  I haven’t actually worn any of these pins out of the house.  Timothy says they’re cool, but he’s my husband and he thinks my feet look cool when I wear super furry socks.  So I’d like to get a little more input.  Haha!

This doesn’t motivate me to make felt flowers (that is probably impossible to do), but it DOES motivate me to get a grey sweater and ask my good friend to make me a felt flower to wear with it :)
