I think I may have a jumpy heart problem.  I have been falling in love with hobbies left and right.  A year ago, I had never sewn, knitted, or crocheted and now I love all three.  I thought Goodwill was smelly.  Now it’s my second home.  I thought home decor was something only rich people enjoyed.  And now my poor heart is immersed in it.

My heart keeps jumping from one crafty, diy-y thing to another.  And I’m not doing a good job of keeping it in check because I think I found my new thing.

The moment I saw this on Ohdeedoh, I audibly gasped.  And then when I clicked the link and found out that it was a kit to actually make it yourself, I fainted.  Okay, I didn’t faint.  I just gasped a second time.

It’s the Daisychain ABC’s Crewelwork Kit by Posie.  Wouldn’t this be the perfect little thing?  I’ve been thinking about getting into embroidery and this would be an excellent way to learn.  Look how many different types of stitches there are!

It’s taking all my will power (and plenty of reminding myself that we have bills to pay and groceries to purchase) not to just buy this amazing little kit right at this moment.

I think it would be perfect in a little nursery for a baby girl.  Absolutely perfect!  And if I started it now, I may just figure out how to do it and have it completed in four years – right around the time we want kids.  Ha!  But that thought makes me really nervous.  I’m not sure about spending all that time making something for a future baby.  Especially when I’m pretty sure we’re going to have 12 boys.  Not because I want 12 boys.  I just feel like if anyone were to have 12 boys, it would be someone like Timothy.  Since I’m married to him, that leaves me with no hope.  And boys would not be impressed with an intricate floral alphabet.

Whoah!  Talk about going on a tangent of my worst fears!

Back to my new hobby crush – do any of you embroider?  Is something like this easy or mucho complicado?  I’m very intrigued.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend – treat your mamas to something nice!  They deserve the best!  I’m going to enjoy a weekend of being with my family, contemplating starting a new hobby, and praying that we don’t have 12 boys.

    It’s easy. :)

It takes a little time but the stitches are super easy once you get started. And…don’t worry about the 12 boys because Grandma Gill taught Dad how to embroider, sew on buttons, make quilts and all sorts of other “girly” arts. He was pretty spectacular at all that stuff and one was still one of the manliest men I knew.

Hahaha! That’s awesome! If Grandma can do it, I certainly can. I didn’t know Uncle Keith could do all of those things! That’s really neat.
