As you may or may not know, MY BIRTHDAY IS SUNDAY!  Ohhhh yeah.  And in true family fashion, I’m making a big deal out of it.  But the kicker – and family, please don’t read this next sentence – is that it is actually working!

I’m not a fan of Sunday birthdays.  Sundays are the busiest days in our “profession,” you can’t sleep in, and you have basically a three hour window to celebrate.  So Monday I woke up, punched Timothy until he woke up, and sweetly asked him, “are you forgetting to tell me something?”

“Umm, I love you?”

“Nope.”

“You’re beautiful?”

“Nope.  Think birthday.”

“It’s on Sunday?”

“It’s my birthday WEEK! You’re supposed to sing to me today.”

And the boy actually did it.  Maybe I just caught him at the right time while he was still semi dreaming, but he sang Happy Birthday to me.  This whole week has actually been filled with festivities.

On Day 1 of Birthday Week, my mom dropped dinner and these off at our house:

Yowza, right?  I was actually amazed that “Birthday Week” was working.  But I’m not going to argue with people celebrating me, so I just kept on going like Birthday Week was legit.

And then Day 2, my mom invited us over for dinner where she fixed one of my favorite meals.

Chocolate chip pancakes with butter, syrup, and powdered sugar.  Holy cannoli, they were delicious.  (Sorry for the bad quality iPhone pic.)

So basically, Birthday Week is rocking out so far.  Timothy’s been telling me happy birthday every day and letting me pick what we watch on tv.  And he even said he was more excited about Birthday Week than the whole iPhone ios 5 thing.  Whatever that is.

Moral of the story?  Aim for Birthday Week.  It’s the best thing to ever happen to birthdays.
