Oh, Happy Day!
I just got off work and I’m about to do one of my most despised household chores … clean out the refrigerator. [Cue dramatic horrer-film like music here.]
I just think it’s a gross job. Sometimes containers of leftovers get lost in there and when I find them I just want to die of sheer disgust. How do they get lost? Well, the light in our refrigerator is broken. And there isn’t a light in the freezer. So you open up the refrigerator and are greeted with a black hole of groceries. Plus it leaks in the bottom drawer. So you can’t put stuff down there.

But Whitney, you may be asking, why is this post called “Oh, Happy Day!”?!?! Well, dear reader, I’m so glad you asked.
I’M GETTING A NEW REFRIGERATOR!!!!!!! [Cue angels singing here.]
Yes, it’s true. A lovely, wonderful, blessing of a lady in our church is getting a new refrigerator and asked if we would be interested in her old one. I’m pretty sure that was the first time I wanted to cry about a refrigerator. Pure joy filled my entire being … joy that could only be compared to the type of joy you get when you find the *perfect* pointy toe black high heels on sale. That’s some good joy.
Immediately I tried to think of a way to repay her kindness and all I could come up with was a knit scarf. Hmm. Wouldn’t she love that in May? Ha! So I’m going to have to kick my brain into gear. How can you adequately thank someone for a refrigerator? A working refrigerator? I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m pretty sure it will have a light inside. Oh my. My joy is bubbling!
I’m off to go bid my old refrigerator farewell. He won’t be missed!
Happy Friday!
~Whitney
