A few days ago I showed you the Sunday school room that my mom and I decorated.

I’m back today to show you the rest of the decorations!

This is a larger view of the focal point of the room.  We’re growing out of our church and don’t have enough Sunday school rooms.  So we’re in the dining hall.  We wanted to decorate it really girly, but it needed to be containable so when we have church functions in the dining hall, it doesn’t look like a pink explosion.

I did a tutorial on those rosey crepe paper balls, and tomorrow I’ll show you how to make this material fringe garland!  It’s my fave.

My Dad built partitions for our church awhile back that we can use to define our Sunday school space from the rest of the dining hall.  During church functions, we just push the partitions against the wall and voila! the decorations are hidden.

My mom decorated the partitions.  These face outward and the girls see them before they come into the class.  I think she did amazing!  She did the sign on a canvas and printed out various princess words on scrapbook paper.  Then she mod-podged it all on.  Pretty sweet, eh?

My favorite is the bunting.  It looks so sweet!  I love the way the fabrics all coordinate together.  It just looks so cheerful and happy.  She made two layers of the bunting and layered them together.  If you are interested in knowing the specifics of how she did it, just let me know and I’ll ask her.  She didn’t use a tutorial, just her brain.  She’s pretty awesome that way.

My mom also had the genius idea to spray paint the chairs.  We had a whole bunch of rusty, grody folding chairs in the storage building of the church.  So my mom got some spray paint primer and covered the yuckiest spots and then sprayed them all with “ballet slipper pink.”  So cute!

A word of warning though, this took a lot of paint.  Lots and lots.  And the seats were so rusty that everything dried a bit scratchy.  We’re talking about making seat covers to combat the roughness.  Princesses don’t need scratchy seats!

We’ve had 3 classes so far and are loving it!  My favorite class has been the one on hair.  My mom talked about the spiritual aspect of hair and why we believe the things we do.  Then I talked about the natural side and how to take care of your hair and try new hairstyles.  Our next class they had to come back with a brand new hairstyle.  It was amazing!  So much fun.

Come back tomorrow and learn how to make that fringe garland!
